Flying Footless – for Aerial Coaches Amputees – Course One: Lower Extremity Amputees

This course is for aerial coaches who are working with or want to be working with amputees. This first course focuses on lower extremity amputees. The focus is on fabric skills but sling, trapeze, aerial hoop and rope all are covered.

You will learn how to safety and confidently spot and work with amputees in the air. The course covers terminology, different set ups for prosthetic limbs and how they affect aerial arts, spotting amputees, modifications and specific skills creating for amputees, conditioning for the lower body, stretching and so much more.

The course includes access to a video resource library, continuing support and a mention on the Kingston Circus Arts website so that amputees across the globe can find teachers who are trained to work with them.

Parties and Fieldtrips

Parties and fieldtrips are available for all of the disciplines that we offer or a combination of disciplines. These can be tailored to the group size and experience of the participants.

Private Lessons

Private, semi-private and group lessons are available for all disciplines that are offered on our schedule. Private lessons are a great opportunity to get individualized attention for skill development, choreography, act creation and more air time.

Open Gym

This time is run on a drop in basis. Students utilize this time to practice aerial skills taught within classes. The space is also available for the practice of partner acrobatics, handstands, flexibility, juggling, hooping and more. While a teacher is present, this is a time of practice for both the teacher(s) and students utilizing the space.
